Brain Drippings

by: Derek Hawkins

Stuck in the in-between
Just not yet asleep
And I'm still too much awake
Its 3 am
Here come the brain drippings

They've kept me up now for hours
Random thoughts come down
Just like rain showers
To leave me in a sea of sleeplessness
Making my life a total mess

Oh... now here they come again

Stuck in the in-between
Just not yet asleep
And I'm still too much awake
Its 4 am
Here come the brain drippings

Someone help me please
Or let me find the key
To turn off my brain
I'm down on my knees
Can't you see
It's driving me insane

Stuck in the in-between
Just not yet asleep
And I'm still too much awake
Its 5 am
Here come the brain drippings

No place to run -
They're waiting there
No place to hide-
They're everywhere

Stuck in the in-between
Just not yet asleep
And I'm still too much awake
Its 3 am
Here come the brain drippings again.
